ALY Bios:
Andrew L. Youngquist Construction Inc. was the successor to the 60-year-old Birtcher Real-Estate Group construction services
division. Since its formation the Company has constructed over 12,000 residences, 17 million square feet of industrial
properties, high rise office towers, business parks, senior retirement communities, hotels and large-scale specialty
projects. Specialty projects are compromised of baseball stadiums, research & development facilities, aircraft hangers and
infrastructure projects. Notable projects include the 1,175,000 square foot Pacific Design Center, 528,000 square foot
Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Mart and corporate facilities for a host of fortune 500 companies.
Andrew L. Youngquist was with Birtcher Construction Company for over 18 years, serving in the capacity of President for the
majority of that time responsible for an annual construction budget in excess of $200,000,000 per year, with projects in
28 states and 3 foreign countries.
In 1990 the Birtcher family contributed its construction and development divisions into a joint venture with Mitsui Bussan ("Mitsui"),
one of the largest trading companies in the world, for a price in excess of $1,000,000,000.
In late 1996 various Birtcher operating groups elected to dissolve the Mitsui partnership, wherein Youngquist formed Andrew L.
Youngquist Construction, Inc., dba Birtcher Construction Services, with investments from Birtcher Family. In 1998, their
interests were bought out and the company is now owned by the senior management team.
Since the divestiture, ALY has enjoyed phenomenal success in the construction industry. The Company has constructed 43 new multi
and mega-plex theaters containing over 800 screens in 4.7 million square feet, across the United States. Over the past 12 months,
ALY has completed over 900 units of market rate and affordable senior apartments, assisted living and dementia care facilities.
ALY currently has an additional 700 units of tract housing facilities under construction, along with 500 units of podium
condominium construction.
